Jerusalem wary of US arms sale to Saudis

Despite the significant increase in US military aid to Israel, defense officials warned Sunday that the sale of satellite-guided missiles to Saudi Arabia had the potential to constitute a strategic threat to the state of Israel.

According to the proposed arms deal, Saudi Arabia will receive thousands of Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) - a low-cost guidance kit that converts existing unguided free-fall bombs into accurately guided "smart" weapons. The package also proposes a 25 percent increase in US military aid to Israel, from an annual $2.4 billion to $3b. a year.

ok...WTF? Im sorry but the way it looks to me is that we are trying to keep everyone happy by giving dangerous gifts! Looks like a nice thing ot do by first glance, but arent we actually making things more tense between other countries? And what happens if something goes wrong between them? Someone else is going to be pissed at us too! This in my eyes, just escalates an already potentialy hostile situation and makes matters worse, for them, and us. I have learned from tons of personal experience, that when you try to keep everyone happy, you ultimatly end up costing yourself in resources and no matter what, someone is going to bite you in the arse! Geeze, people, Im not a Harvard educated politician, but even I can see where this is going...

In addition, dont you think that we should be spending money on something that would be more useful for us as a country, like gee, I dunno, maybe education and better health care? Call me crazy, but I think that if we educated our country's people, and kept them alive long enought to contribute to our economy, we might actually be able to create a stronger economy. If we continue to adhere to our current foriegn policies, we will continue to make enemies, and eventually we are going to be in economic hell. Hence the reason we are going to need healthy and eduacated Americans. Americans that will be smart enough and live long enough to contribute to the economy as well as maybe effectivly change some of our "foriegn policies".
